Popping Instructions:
Heat 1/4 cup of cooking oil and one kernel of popcorn in a large, heavy covered pan. After kernel pops, pour in 1/3 cup popcorn (or enough to cover bottom of pan – no more than one kernel deep). Re-cover. Shake or stir until all corn is popped. Season to taste with melted butter and salt. Makes about 2 quarts of popped corn.
Preferred Popcorn started back in the 1950s a young farmer and his son looked out over their field of popcorn filled with anticipation and a shared love for this wholesome snack. Neither of them knew then that popcornwould change their lives and the lives of those in their community. That little boy took over the family farm during one of the hardest eras in American agriculture the 1980s. And it was popcorn that pulled the family through. Now they can be found in over70 countries, but it all started, and continues to be produced and ran right here in Nebraska!
